Gerrit Kemps (1994) - Hall of Fame Class of 2013

Gerrit was the winner of a total ten varsity letters at HMHS in soccer, winter track, spring track, and basketball.  He was all Colonial Conference for three years in soccer and first team All SJ Group 1 his junior and senior years. He was selected second team All SJ All Groups his junior year and first team his senior year.  He was named Mid-fielder of the year by the Courier Post and to the All-State team (Newark Star Ledger), both in his senior year.  Gerrit was also placed on the Courier Post All-Century team for soccer.  He was a member of a Group 1 State Championship team. 

Running the 800 meters and the400 meter hurdles, he was selected All Colonial Conference and All SJ Group 1 his freshman through senior years.  Gerrit was the SJ Group 1 champion in the 800 meters.  He was the Group 1 State Champion in the 400 meter hurdles as well as the school record holder in that event.  He was named the Courier Post Track Performer-of-the Week on multiple occasions.  He was awarded the Cyrus D. Marter award for the best male athlete at HMHS.
