Craig Walter (1968) - Hall of Fame Class of 2011
Craig Walter was a varsity letter winner in two sports at Haddonfield. He earned three in Track and two in Football. He was a speedy halfback in Russ Spicer’s option offense. He utilized that speed in track to go undefeated for two years in dual meets competing in the 110 high hurdles. He set a school record for that event. He also holds a record for the most points achieved (132) in a season while participating in the high hurdles, low hurdles, and high jump. His honors include 1st teams Colonial Conference for the High Hurdles and Low Hurdles and 1st team All South Jersey Group III for those same two events. He placed 4th in the state and the Delaware Valley Meet of Champions in the high hurdles.
Mr. Walter continued his athletic prowess at Dickenson College where he played football and ran track. He set 4 records as receiver for catches in a career, most catches in a game, most yards per catch, and most catches in a season. He was the scoring leader for the Dickenson football team in 1968. He placed 4th in the Penn Relays in the High Hurdle Shuttle as a member of the Dickenson track team.
Craig is a software engineer with Oracle and resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife Patti. They have one daughter, Chelsea who recently graduated from the University of Colorado.
