Barry Schwartz (1969) - Hall of Fame Class of 2011
Barry Schwartz was the recipient of 6 varsity letters, 3 in Football and 3 in Track. He was known for his toughness and hard-nosed play on the football field. He exhibited these traits along with his skill at the linebacker and offensive end positions. He teammates voted him captain his senior year in 1968. That same year he was selected 1st team All-Colonial Conference, 1st team All-Suburban (all groups), and second team All-South Jersey for his play at linebacker. In track, Barry was a field man, the discus being his primary event.
Mr. Schwartz played football in college at Tennessee Tech. where he earned a varsity letter at linebacker. After graduating from college he coached high school football in Charleston, SC for two seasons, compiling a 15-3 record.
Barry currently resides in Portland, Oregon with his wife Daelene. He has 2 daughters and a step-son. He works as a marketing and sales executive and is a member of several non-profit boards.
