Coach Dan Brown is in his third year as a member of the HMHS baseball staff.  He serves as the volunteer pitching coach and program's pitching coordinator.  Coach Brown was born and raised in Philadelphia until he was 13 years old.  He attended Junior High and High School at Lower Cape May Regional before graduating and moving on to Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey).  

As a pitcher at Trenton State, Coach Brown was a four year starter and ace of the staff.  He was a four time NJAC All League Selection, NJAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman, two time NJAC Pitcher of the Year and two time All Region selection.   Dan graduated Trenton State with a Bachelors Degree in Ciminal Justice and from Fairleigh Dickinson with his Masters in Business Administration.  He is a member of Trenton State's Athletic Hall of Fame and holds multiple pitching records, including the program's all-time winningest pitcher.  

Coach Brown played collegiate summer baseball in the prestigious Cape Cod League for the Wareham Gatemen, in the AAABA Johnstown Collegiate League and also in the Ontario (Canada) Collegiate Summer League.  

Following his collegiate career, he began a professional career in the Baltimore Orioles system.  He battled through shoulder injuries to climb the ladder, but suffered a second torn rotator cuff, which ended his career.  

Brown has coached at least one All-Conference pitcher in each of his two seasons (Dane Samartino and Nick Turnage in 2023 and Finn McElhiney in 2024).

Coach Brown is a former College Adjunct professor at Rutgers University - Camden, Rowan University, Rowan College at South Jersey and Camden County College.  He is a retired Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Resident Agent in Charge.  Dan currently is a Field Representative in the Police Training Commission for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.  He is also the owner of DACK Enterprises LLC, a real estate rehabilitation company.  

Coach Brown has been married to Martha Brown (née Cuzzupe) for 26 years and they have four children; Daniel (HMHS '17), Christopher (HMHS '19), Alexandra (HMHS '23) and Katherine (10th grade).
