South Jersey Interscholastic Championships 

The South Jersey Interscholastic Championships will begin at Vineland and Millville High Schools on Saturday, September 23.  On the attached draw sheets, “Vine” indicates a match scheduled at Vineland, “Mill” a match scheduled at Millville.  All matches on Sunday will be at Vineland, while the semifinal and final rounds will be played at Haddonfield’s courts during the weekend of September 30-October 1.  The schedule for the second weekend will depend on whether any semifinalists will be observing Yom Kippur. 

There will be no coaching on the first day (when two sites will be used), and because of the large number of matches scheduled on the first day, match tiebreakers instead of full third sets will be used in all of the day’s matches.  Each singles player or doubles team must bring one can of new balls (winners take new balls to the next round).  Any weather-related changes in the tournament’s schedule will be posted online at this site.

SJTCA Scholarships

Interested seniors may apply for a scholarship from the South Jersey Tennis Coaches Association by completing the attached application and submitting it to their high school coach, who will forward the application to the SJTCA Scholarship Committee. The scholarships will be presented at the season-ending SJTCA banquet.

In addition, any supporters of high school tennis who wish to contribute to the SJTCA Scholarship Fund should send checks - payable to SJTCA - to SJTCA Scholarship Fund, 700 Clinton Ave, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.  The South Jersey Tennis Coaches Association is a tax-exempt organization, and contributions are tax-deductible.
