Coach Marino returns for his seventh season on the Haddonfield sideline in 2025.
As a high school and collegiate player, Coach Marino relied on his hard work, grit, and dedication to the sport to foster success amongst his teammates. As a coach, he has shown early signs that he should be considered one the best and brightest in the high school game in South Jersey.
As a club coach at New Jersey Surf (Marlton), he helped to lead his U15 team to the 2022 USYS President's Cup title in Florida; a true national championship at club level.
Coach Marino's 2022 VRs squad faced another onslaught of south Jersey Group 3 & 4 opponents and persevered again with a winning record. Fall of 2021 saw Coach Marino's Varsity Reserves battle to an 8-3-4 record against a typically tough schedule that included some of the best programs in South Jersey. During the fall of 2020, Coach Marino led his Varsity Reserves to an impressive 9-2-2 record against one the of the toughest schedules ever compiled for JV Boys Soccer at HMHS.
In his first run as the Varsity Reserves Coach during the fall of 2019, Marino guided his squad to a 13-1-3 record in competitive games. One loss against the schedule faced was impressive, however, the actual product on the field and progress made on the part of his players was real evidence of his ability as a coach.
Coach Marino played college soccer at the NCAA Division I level for Loyola (MD) as a freshman in 2015. As a sophomore, he transferred to Stockton University (NCAA Division III) and helped lead the Ospreys for three seasons between 2016 and 2018. During his three years in Galloway, Marino started in 52 of the 54 collegiate games he played, helping to elevate Ospreys Men’s Soccer to an overall record of 29-21-11 during that span. His career was highlighted by a 14-4-4 junior season in 2017, Stockton’s joint highest single-season win total under Head Coach Greg Ruttler. Following his sophomore campaign in 2016, Marino was recognized as the Ospreys' Most Valuable Player. He was also named a two-time captain of the team during his junior and senior seasons. Successful in the classroom as well, Marino was selected for the NCAA Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team during his time at Stockton.
As a Minuteman at Washington Township High School, Coach Marino enjoyed a memorable four-year run with former Head Coach Shane Snyder’s program. He was named a captain his junior year and then in 2014, Marino was a senior captain and leader on a 26-1 Washington Township team that claimed an NJSIAA Group 4 State Championship. The 2014 Washington Township State Title winning squad is still regarded as perhaps among the best teams in South Jersey high school soccer history. Following his high school career, Coach Marino was named an Olympic Conference All-Conference honoree as well as Third Team All-South Jersey in 2014. Academically, Coach Marino received designation as an Olympic Conference Scholar Athlete for Washington Township High School.
