Congratulations to the team on an excellent season with lots of great performances and personal records. Please read the schedule below for the week of May 15th for team members continuing on to the championship meets. Team members should have been informed by a coach that they are participating in the championship meets. Looking ahead to the championship meets: select team members will be entered into the Haddonfield Invitational this week (limited to 5 team members for the 100m and 800m races only) and Conference Championships (limited to top 3 team members in all events). If your child has a question about participation in the meets, please have them see or email a coach.

- All practices listed as at HMHS will meet at 3:30 on the high school track.

Season Schedule Change

Dear Parents:
- We will no longer be practicing or competing the week of March 20th. Coaches will be available in the gym right after school on Monday the 20th for students to come check the roster to see if they are cleared for the season.
- The March 24th home meet will be rescheduled (date TBD).
- Weather permitting, the following week’s schedule (week of March 27th) will be as follows:
- Monday - practice at the middle school 3:00-3:45
- Tuesday - practice at the middle school 3:00-3:45
- Wednesday - practice at the middle school 3:00-3:45
- Thursday - practice at the high school 3:30-4:30
- Friday - home meet at the high school 4:00

Middle School Sports Forms/Online Sign Up:

All required paperwork must be completed and given to the school nurse, Mrs. Barranger, to review before participation in the track program. The online registration must be completed for participation on the track program. **Middle school athletes do not need to take the impact test to participate.** Approval from the nurse's office and athletic office must be given for a student to participate with the team. This list of approved athletes will be updated daily. (One of the requirements for this packet is the completion of a recent sports physical. We understand that attaining a physical may take several weeks. Students who are not eligible for the first day of practice are still welcome to join the team whenever these forms are completed and processed.) Only one physical per year is required. The health permission packet must be submitted for every sport. The nurse will approve the packet and pass it on for academic eligibility. This process needs at least a day to complete.

Program Philosophy: The middle school track level program includes: sprints, distance events, long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus. The program exposes the athletes to the various events and training principles. The team members will be guided to find events that match their interests and potential. They will be challenged to steadily progress in their training and improve in their performances. The students should find their experience successful and fun!
Practice Schedule:
Practice will begin the week of March 20th. Season practices will include a combination of practices at the middle school (3:00-3:45) or high school (3:30-4:30). Please check back on this site for practice and meet schedules and follow us on twitter, where the schedule will be posted each week.
Practice Details:
- Location: Weekly schedules will be posted for practice and meets.
- Attendance: Athletes will sign in/check out daily.
- Running/Clothing: Wear supportive running shoes to prevent injuries. Bring extra sweats to keep warm in the early part of the season. Bring a labeled or identifiable water bottle.
- Bikes: If riding your bike to track practice or meets at the high school, lock up bicycles.
- Valuables: Leave valuables at home.
Meet Information:
The team will compete in Colonial Conference dual meets as well as additional championship meets. The season meets are listed on the "schedule" tab.
Meet Details:
Below is the list of events for the middle school dual meets. For home meets, students are asked to arrive at the high school track by 3:30 for the 4:00 start time. Athletes should wear their team t-shirt (more information below).
Team T-Shirts:
Purchase a team t-shirt for $8, which will serve as the competition top. Sizes adult S, M, L are available. This is the same t-shirt used as a competition top for the cross country team. The t-shirt uniforms will be available for purchase at each track practice. $8 cash or check made out to "HMHS".
*Practice/Meet Cancelations: When possible, cancelations or changes to the schedule will be announced to the students before the end of the school day and posted on the team website. They will also be tweeted out on our Twitter account: @HMSTrackXC
