Bradford G. Wilby (1981 - 2006)
Brad was a 2004 graduate of Plymouth State University, where he played goalie for the Panthers soccer team. He was a starter in 67 of 71 games played, posted a career 1.17 goals-against average and a .797 save percentage, and managed 19 career shutouts to go along with a 37-24-5 record. As a senior, he was named to the 2003 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-New England First Team and was the recipient of the Plymouth State’s Paul E. Arnold Varsity Club Male Athlete of the Year Award.
Brad was also a 1999 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School, where he was a standout goalkeeper. He helped lead his team to two straight state championships in 1997 and 1998. In 1997, Brad set the all-time program record for shutouts in a season with nineteen (19) on a Haddonfield team that went undefeated (21-0-1). An outgoing young man of strong character, Brad had a smile that truly lit up the room. His optimism and sense of humor left indelible marks on the hearts of everyone he met. "Brad's Stone" sits directly behind the near side goal at Scout Field and is a reminder of his time and greatness as an athlete at HMHS and Plymouth State. His legacy lives on as undoubtedly one of the best players at his position in Haddonfield Soccer history.
